Q: Who should hit first or has "honors"?

A: The person who is further from the hole, whether on or off the green, has "honors". However, in most non-professional cases, the "ready golf" term could apply. This means that, even if you are closer to the hole and you won't interfere with others in your group, if you are ready to hit please do so.

This is the type of golf we like to see played on the Sun Hills Ladies Association. This way we can keep the pace of play moving and not cause back-ups.

Q: When do you let the group behind you "play through"?

A: If you are keeping up with the group in front of you, then keep playing in the order you were sent out.

However, if you have an empty hole in front of you and the group behind is waiting for you, please let them play through. It will make for a more pleasant experience for everyone.

We on the Board have been putting our heads together to come up with ways to make this BLOG work for the league. The one thing that we unanimously identified was to use it as a "GOLF TIPS, ETTIQUITE, and Q & A FORUM".

There are always questions of various types that are asked and answered during the season that everyone doesn't get to hear. So we are going to create a FAQ Forum and address these issues in the BLOG. We will go to Golf Professionals, UGA or other sources to find answers.

You will be able to find/read/review past posts under the label "FAQ Forum". If you have any questions you would like us to address please leave a comment on this or any other "FAQ Forum" post. We won't use names so don't let that be a deciding factor.

Hi there!

We would like to ask you ladies for a favor. We are having a tough time getting the "Closest to the Hole" markers after league on Wednesday. So, if you know you are the last group out on Wednesday could you please bring in the Closest markers and leave them at the desk? This way we don't have to worry about them getting wet or blowing away.

Hi Ladies!

This is a reminder about our Member/Guest night that will on June 10th this year. As always we will be doing a "Rally for a Cure" for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation that night as well. It will be a 2 women scramble, shot gun start with dinner after golf.

Although we encourage you to bring a guest (female), it is not required. Also, participation in the Rally is not required either. What is required is HAVING FUN!!!!

There will be flyers posted at the course and a sign-up sheet on our table beginning tomorrow.

Well, we made it again. It doesn't get much better than yesterday! We hope you all had a great time!

Now about the typo day I had Saturday! I hope the ladies whose names got messed up by my faulty keyboard will be understanding. And Mindy, you really don't have to go out an improve your game. I have grounded that illiterate piece of equipment and will send it to a refresher typing class!

Well, we made it through April and were only skunked twice. Not too bad. And...according to the weatherman, it looks like we will be starting May out right!

The April Target Gift Cards should be waiting at the desk when you check in this week. If you are one of the lucky winners, don't forget to pick it up on Wednesday.

FYI, Target will not sell a gift card for under $5. Therefore, Marian will keep a record of those of us who didn't win at least $5 and when we hit the magic number she will get our gift cards as well.
