Hey there! Just a reminder that although August is over, we will still be having weekly POD's. We will alternate between Low Gross/Low Net through the month. This week is LOW GROSS. So don't stop playing just because it's September! There is still some great golfing weather a head of us!

CLOSING SOCIAL

Hi Ladies!

I hate to think that the season is getting close to the end, but when we start thinking about the Closing Social we know its inevitable.

This year the Closing Social will be on October 7th. The sign up sheet will be on the table. Please sign up early so we know how many ladies to plan for.

The Social includes dinner, prizes, brief business meeting and elections. We will keep you up to date with details as they are planned!

CHICAGO PUTTS

Hi Ladies, Talk about some big time putting! Congratulations to the winners of Chicago Putts. And hats off to all the other ladies who putted lights out but didn't place. I think this is one of the best putting displays ever! Good goin'!

Playing the Ball as it Lies on the Course

*You must play the ball as it lies. You may not move it to a better spot.

*You may not improve your lie by pressing down behind the ball. The club may be grounded only lightly behind the ball.

*You may not improve the area of your intended swing or line of play by bending or breaking anything growing, such as tree limbs or weeds.

*In a hazard you may not touch the sand, ground or water with the club before or during your backswing.

*In a hazard you may NOT remove loose impediments such as leaves, twigs or other natural things. You MAY remove obstructions such as bottles, rakes or other artificial objects.

TO MAKE PLAYING THE BALL AS IT LIES NOT EASIER, PLEASE FILL YOUR FAIRWAY DIVOTS WITH SAND, and REPAIR BALL MARKS ON THE GREEN. IF YOU FIX YOURS AND ONE OTHER, SOON THE COURSE WILL BE IN TIP TOP SHAPE!!!!

Chicago Putts Clarification

Hi Everyone,

Anonymous asked if getting a high Chicago score means we don't want to putt well when playing Chicago Putts on Wednesday?

No, that's not what it means. The lower your putt total, the more points you get. So on each hole, the scoring breaks down like this:

0 Putts - 8 points
1 Putt - 6 points
2 Putts - 5 points
3 Putts - 1 point
4 and up - 0 points

These values will be listed on the recap sheets on our table. Keep the putters zeroed on for another week!

Chicago Putts

Good Evening!

Just a reminder that the POD this coming Wednesday is "Chicago Putts". For those of you who have not played this before, you get points for the number of putts you have on a hole and the player with the highest score wins.

There will be different tally sheet on our table to use for this week. Just complete the information asked for on the sheet. Don't forget to add your "Chicago Putts" score. Staple them to your scorecard. Please don't use our regular recap sheets.

Hopefully those of us who let their putters have the day off, can get them aligned and ready for another putting skills challenge. WHAT? My putter was the only one to take the week off? Well, I'll be...

2009 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Congratulations to Judi Tutorow for shooting a fantastic 85 to become the 2009 Sun Hills Ladies Club Champion! And congratulations to everyone listed below. It was a great Championship!

Thanks to every lady who participated in the Championship this year. You braved the unseasonably hot weather, played great golf, visited with friends and had fun. Its the support of all our members that keeps this league as great as it is!
