CLUB CHAMP DEADLINE

Greetings!

Don't forget to sign up for the Club Championship if you haven't already. The deadline is next Wednesday, August 4th.

If you have any questions as to whether you are eligible to be Club Champ, please comment on this POST. Don't ask the guys at the desk. They don't have access to our records.

We've had a couple of ladies ask if they will get credit for nights they have come out and started to play but had to stop due to weather. The answer is YES! Just make sure you note it on your recap sheet next week or comment on this POST.

Remember, if you don't have the required 8 rounds, you can still play on the 11th (we really want you to). You just can't compete for payouts.

We just ask if you sign up to play, that you come out and play. Remember, we are buying food and don't want to waste league money.

Let's make this the best Championship ever!!!

Hi All!

Below are the winners for this past week's Rocket Launch. Looks like it was a mixed bag as to whether teeing up your second shot helped or hindered. We did have a ton of Birdies this week so I'm guessing not all was bad! Hope you had a good time!

This coming Wednesday is "LOW NET" followed by "LOW PUTTS" on the 4th to get us in shape for the Club Championship on the 11th. If you haven't done so already, please sign up.

Hi Ladies, Below is a recap of weeks played this season as they will apply to Club Championship eligibility. Please check it carefully. If I have missed any weeks for any of you please let me know right away. You will note that I wasn't sure of some of your participation in the Member/Guest(s).

There are just 3 weeks of play left until the Championship. So, please don't put off contacting any of the board if you have questions.

Don't forget, even if you don't have the required 8 weeks, you can still play and have dinner that day, but just aren't eligible for prizes.

MEMBER/GUEST, part 2

Good morning everyone! Well, I guess in order to have a successful Member/Guest scramble we need to have it in July! Although there was a cloud in Tooele that looked threatening, it stayed away and we had a beautiful evening to play our scramble...no rain, snow, sleet or hail!

We didn't flight the tournament. Instead, we paid the 2 lowest scoring two-somes, the 2 highest scoring two-somes and the 2 two-somes right smack dab in the middle.

Yes, due to scheduling conflicts, the Club Championship was changed to August 11th.

Yes, next week we will post a list that shows how many weeks everyone has played so you can know where you stand for the Championship.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT

Hi All,

Well the Club Championship is just around the corner - August 11th. Doesn't it just seem like we just started playing?

Remember the qualifications you need in order to compete in the Club Championship...

1. Must have a valid, 18 hole UGA handicap
2. Sun Hills must be your home course OR you must be multiple listed with Sun Hills
3. You MUST have played in at 8 weekly events.

There will be no exceptions as they are in the League By-Laws.

However, if you fall short of the 8 weekly PODs, you can come out and play as a "pacer". You just won't be eligible for the Championship.

We will have a 2:00 shot gun start. Sun Hills will be closing the course for us that afternoon. Dinner will be served after play.

There will be a sign-up sheet on our table on Wednesday. It is very important that you sign up if you plan to play. We need a firm count in order to make pairings (we will make every attempt to keep you with your normal playing partners) and plan for food.

IF YOU ARE NOT SURE IF YOU WILL BE PLAYING, DON'T SIGN UP UNTIL YOU KNOW FOR SURE.

In the past we have had an unacceptable number of "no shows". With Sun Hills kindly giving us the entire course for an afternoon, we must be able to show them our appreciation by not taking advantage of them

Georgia made a valid point in her comment regarding her new set of clubs has no irons above a 7 iron and the manufacturer substituting hybrids for longer irons.

Technology has won and we dropping the "all irons" forever and TOMORROW IS LOW NET!!!.

Please tell everyone that you know who may have decided not to play because of the all irons play.

Mona asked the question: For the ALL IRONS Play of the Day this coming Wednesday will HYBRIDS be considered irons?

Answer: In the past we have NOT considered hybrids to be irons. So to be consistent, that will be the same this year.
