Remember: We would love everyone to play but please don't sign up if you're NOT sure you will be there. Since we are paying for dinner from the $55 entry fee, if we buy too much, the league will have to coverage what we didn't collect.

FYI: We won't be able to use punch passes for B & TB.

June 24 - DICE ROLL

Good Afternoon! Here are the winners for this week's Dice Roll. As you can see by the scores, we have some ladies that are pretty good "Rollers". Congrats!

You will notice that there is no Closest to the Hole winners for this week. This is because we had 2 groups that didn't receive any dice. So to give everyone an equal opportunity to win CTTH, we opted to just not have it this week. We will use that $40 for Long Drive contests on the CLub Championship.

CARE OF THE COURSE

BUNKERS: Before leaving a bunker, players should carefully smooth over all holes and footprints made by them and any nearby that were made by others. If a rake is within reasonable proximity, the rake should be used for this purpose.

BALL MARKS/DIVOTS: Players should carefully repair any divot holes made by them and any damage to the putting green made by the impact of a ball (whether or not made by the player herself).

UNNECESSARY DAMAGE: To avoid causing damage to the hole, players should not stand too close to the hole and should take care during the handling of the flagstick and the removal of a ball from the hole. The head of a club should not be used to remove a ball from the hole.

Players should not lean on their clubs when on the putting green. This is particularly true when removing the ball from the hole.

Signs limiting the movement of golf carts should be strictly observed. Golf carts should never be driven on the fringe of a green or between bunkers and putting greens. If a player needs special accommodation, they should consult with course management and abide by the course regulations.

According to the USGA, a female bogey golfer "is a player who has a course handicap of approximately 24 on a course of standard difficulty. She can hit tee shots an average of 150 yards and reach a 280-yard hole in two shots".

FAQ Forum

As a result of all the rain we have been getting, let's talk about something that we might encounter during our round of golf...Casual Water.

Casual Water is defined as any temporary puddle of water, caused by rain or over-watering, that is visible before or after the player takes her stance. If your ball or stance is in casual water, you may either play the ball as it lies, or find the nearest place no closer to the hole that gives you relief and drop the ball within one club-length of that place. There is no penalty.

Soft, mushy earth is NOT casual water unless water is visible on the surface before or after you take your stance. You cannot step all around the ball to force up water on the surface.

If a bunker contains casual water, you may drop the ball in the bunker at a place that provides maximum available relief (in 1 inch of water rather than 5 inches) without penalty.

Or, with a one-stroke penalty, you may drop the ball outside the bunker, keeping the point where the ball lay directly between the hole and where the ball is dropped. There is no limit on how far behind the bunker you may drop the ball.

2009 Member/Guest Rally for the Cure

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoy these photos from the 2009 Member/Guest Rally for the Cure. It was wet, but fun and successful. What a generous league we have. We raised $967 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. So many ladies sponsored a balloon for the release we had. There is a lady that I dedicated this Rally whose name is Donna. She was just diagnosed not too long ago. She had surgery today and we have been told that her doctors are very encouraged with their findings. At this time, I would like to let Donna and all of our friends and families that have fought or are fighting the same battle they are in our thoughts and prayers.

We want to congratulate all of the "winners" of the Rally sponsored prizes and the scramble "winners". A great BIG congrats to Kim for winning the really nice Hybrid that Cleveland so generously donated to the Rally for the Cure. What great sponsors the Foundations has.

Thanks again to all of you. Hopefully next year we can have better weather!!!

Hi Ladies, Well, it time to sign up for Beauty & the Beast. We are having it early (July 8) this year so we can finish golfing in daylight! The cost is still $55 per couple that will include dinner after. The sign-up sheet will be at our table. There is no limit to how many couples will play, so please don't sign up until you are SURE your beast can play. We don't want to buy and prepare food and then not have people show up. This cost would eat into the league treasury and we can't afford it. The deadline to sign up is July 1st so hopefully that will give us all time to plan ahead. This is a FUN night so don't miss it!!!!!

Ladies, Here are the recipes for the Chicken Salad and Fruit Salad from the other night. Bon Appetite!

Golf Cart Etiquette:

• Don't park your cart on one side of the fairway and walk to your ball on the other side. Park close enough that it won't interfere with your partner's or your swing.
• If your ball and your cart partner's are close to the same distance, but across the fairway from each other, park in the center and each walk to your ball. It will save time!
• Please don't drive your cart forward if someone else in your group is addressing their ball.
• Before you drive into an adjacent fairway, please make sure that you are no interfering with someone else's shot.
• If an area is roped off, don't drive there.
• Please keep carts behind the cart signs near the greens.
• Unless you have a handicap flag, please park your cart on the cart path when you go to putt and not anywhere around the green.

Hey Ladies! I know the weather dudes are predicting p.m. showers for this week but don't let that scare you away from Member/Guest on Wednesday. Rain or shine please come to the golf course. We have all the food purchased for the dinner so we will eat if nothing else.

This is a reminder for those of you who signed up for this week's Member/Guest night. Remember, this is a 5:30 shotgun start. Since there are so many ladies participating, please come early. It will take a while to register and sign up for the "Rally for the Cure".

Sun Hills has been kind enough to close the course for us so we can use the front and back nines, so we don't want to be late.

Remember also, we will still be assessing the $3 weekly POD fee for ourselves and our guests in order to pay for the prizes. But, there will be no charge for the dinner.

Finally, in keeping with the spirit of the "Rally for the Cure" PLEASE WEAR PINK!

One of our members asked "if their regular foursome plays without guests on June 10th are they eligible for the play of the day".

Yes, you are. You will pair-off and play the 2 women scramble at 5:30. If for some reason there are just 3 of you, then let one of the Board know and we will put you down as a 3-women scramble. The only time you wouldn't be eligible is if you don't do the 5:30 shotgun with the rest of the league.
